Finton’s Frolic: The Most Important Transfer Window Ever — Part 38

By Daniel Finton (Deputy Editor)

What up, Pimps?

Welcome one and welcome all to the Finton’s Frolic right opinion zone. Today we will be discussing the importance of the forthcoming Summer transfer window. Since “windows” have been a thing, not the glass ones, the ones where players are allowed to move teams, each has been the most important one ever for Arsenal. Summer 2021 sees nothing change in that regard.

Refer to senior writer Mac Johnson’s monstrous and world class piece that mentions who we need, because frankly, I don’t feel like wasting my word count on such a lengthy list. I’m too lazy to write long pieces. Odds are if you’re reading this, you’re somewhat knowledgeable about the Gunners so you know what we need. If that’s what you’re looking for just stop reading this now and go over there. I’ve got your click, I need you no longer. Just kidding, please stay.

Anyways, this window has to be an insanely productive one. While one being cracked open generally just allows a cool breeze to fill the house, we need way more of a refresher than that. Mikel Arteta and company need the temperature of this house to change by like 1,000,000 degrees. At the moment this club is far from cool, we’re a hot mess. A hot pile of shit. A bowl of soup fresh out of the microwave that’s too hot to eat. The spicy meal you ordered at the Jamaican restaurant because you thought your lily white taste buds could handle it. Draw all of the negative “too hot” analogies you’d like. I’m opened to suggestions.

Unlike other summers and winters, this time around the side needs to improve on basically every front, even the front. The forward, middle and back areas are all in dire need of reinforcements. Typically it’s just one or two of those sectors, now, however, we find ourselves in a world of trouble where each has glaring deficiencies. “Won’t you open up that window?”

To be brutally honest, if this window does not go exceptionally, at the very least, I can easily see Arsenal have an even worse season next time around than we did this. Edu and Arteta have a lot of trash, or “rubbish” like the Brits would say to take out, and they also need even more tools to fix this mess.

To close, if we don’t have a good window, write the next campaign off. And while you’ve got the pencil in hand, do the same for Arteta. To nutshell this shit, callback to the earlier Travis Scott reference, this purchase period has to be our antidote.

Toodloo...!
